If you're a member of the HAIST clan, maybe we're related.  Here's our story:

My great grandfather was Frederick Haist from Wurtenberg, Germany.  He and
wife Barbara (Maulbetsch) came to the U.S. in the late 1860's.  They had 12
children.  Males were George, born in Wisconsin, Rickie, John, Charles (my
grandfather) and Henry, all born in Kansas or Missouri. My dad was born in Holton, KS.in 1913.
