My truck was built in Canada. GM had a plant in Regina,
Saskatchewan that churned out trucks for both commercial use and the War effort. As in the US, they stopped the commercial  production in 1942 until the end of the War. They also produced the GM "Mapleleaf" line of larger trucks.

My truck apparently came from Saskatoon Saskatchewan sometime around 1958. It then somehow got to Manitoba and was registered as a farm vehicle in 1977. The engine in it matched the body numbers and had never been rebuilt. This says something about the longevity of the Chevy.

This  is a 3/4 ton Special Model BM. It has the same diff as a 1/2 ton but equiped with 14" brakes on the back and 11" brakes on the front. It also has dual leaf spring stacks on each side of the rear end. Each spring set has 8 leaves in it and the upper set only engages the frame when the load is in excess of 1000 lbs. Other than that it is identical to a long box 1/2 ton.
