Ed Jerde's 1942 Half Ton Panel Truck....

42wp1.jpg (16374 bytes) I hoped you might be interested in these pictures of my 1942 1/2 ton Windowed Panel.  The first two are from the 80's before my paint job started flying off.  The other two are as it looks today.  I have owned this panel since 1975.  It had come to South Dakota from Colorado in about 1968.  I believe it may have been in California also as it had license plate frames from Will Geer (SP?) Chevrolet, Redding when I bought it.  The serial number (1BK01 4011) tells me that it was built in
Flint in January of 42.  The engine serial number is correct for a 42 so it may be original.  It has a four speed transmission.  I believe this panel must have been sent to a body company from the factory to have the
side windows installed.  The metal is very nicely formed around a woodbuck.   Each window has two panes one which slides sideways along side the other.  I have enjoyed looking over your Web site and also reading
the article on your pickup in G&D.  I would be interested in any comments you or anyone else would have on my 42.
.
Thank you,
Ed Jerde
